The Scottish Institute
for Business Leaders (SIBL) was established in 2003 as a support
network to help Scotlands business leaders achieve their personal
and corporate aspirations through the sharing of expert knowledge
and best practice.
Since then SIBL has benefitted
directors and managers from multinationals, SMEs and public
sector organisations plus senior members of the police force
and the RAF.
The group's philosophy is to
facilitate leaders investment in their own business and personal
development thereby enabling their organisations to expand
ultimately to create more growth in the Scottish economy
SIBL members meet one day a
month and spend the morning interacting with a world-class
presenter on a relevant business topic. The afternoon is spent
boardroom style discussing specific opportunities or issues
that members require guidance on. Such meetings are held in
strictest confidence and for this reason no two members can
be from directly competing firms. Effectively members can
tap into the knowledge and experience of a Chairman and board
of seasoned and successful non-executive directors.
I
believe SIBL is unique in allowing real business leaders to
work on real issues in real time, said Drew Pryde, group chairman
of SIBL. There are a number of business networking and business
development groups in Scotland but we are different. Our focus
is purely on the development of the individual and their business
to enable them to achieve their full potential and to realise
their aspirations. He added: This year we have brought together
a world-class group of speakers who are experts in management,
leadership, sales and people development and motivation to
speak to the group and we are involved in organising a number
of high-level conferences which will address vital business
issues.
