SIBL GEARS UP FOR EXPANSION IN 2011

This is going to be a very exciting year for SIBL and its members.

We have recently announced the appointment of four regional directors

to spearhead the expansion of the organisation throughout Scotland.  The

directors and their respective regions are Rebecca Davies (Edinburgh), John

Paterson (Tayside & Fife), Dave Patrick (Inverness) and Peter Siviter (Glasgow).

There has never been a greater need for an organisation like SIBL to give support

to leaders whether they be in business, the public or voluntary sectors.  Many

organisations have restructured or cut back and are now seeking a vehicle like

SIBL that is dedicated to identifying new opportunities and ways of doing business

that will take them to the next level and secure sustained future growth.

For 2011 we have an outstanding programme of events with top global speakers

such as Roger Harrop, the celebrated international expert on creating sustainable

business growth.  Further details of speakers, venues and dates can be found on

our events page Click here

We are also delighted that the launch of both the new Glasgow and Edinburgh groups is

being supported by MacRoberts, one of Scotland's leading corporate law firms. We

are indebted to Alan Kelly, a corporate partner at MacRoberts and founder member

of SIBL for arranging to host the launch events.

WORLD-CLASS BUSINESS SPEAKER ADDRESSES THE SCOTTISH INSTITUTE FOR BUSINESS LEADERS

Leading Canadian businessman Donald Cooper presented to members of the Scottish Institute for Business Leaders (SIBL) on 9th March 2009 at the Pavillions, Alba Business Park, Livingston.*

Donald Cooper is one of Canada’s top businessmen, coaches and speakers. His presentation focused on “Myths, Lies and Management” looking at how businesses can cope with more demanding customers, more and stronger competition, a tough economy and shrinking margins. Donald showed attendees how they can turn their organisations from ordinary into extraordinary. He says:”The choice is simple, be extraordinary or be eliminated. Mediocrity is no longer an option!” Donald has been awarded the coveted Certified Speaking Professional designation by the International Federation for Professional Speakers – fewer than 2% of the professional speakers in North America have qualified for this certification.
